This started because people were carrying too much alone.
“I do not have time to find a doctor when life is already asking so much of me.”
That sentence revealed the real problem. People may already be working full-time, raising children, caring for a parent, supporting a suffering family member, managing illness, completing immigration paperwork, or trying to meet an urgent medical deadline. Then the healthcare system asks them to spend hours searching, calling, comparing, waiting, and beginning again.
R. Lee created Find A Doctor Canada after seeing that people were not failing to navigate the system. The system was placing too much of the work on them. With a social-service background, the founder understood that information alone was not enough. People needed time, patience, careful listening, relevant resources, and a practical next step shaped around their real situation.
The platform is built with input from social service graduates and people working in social services. Their experience supporting families, newcomers, seniors, caregivers, and people facing barriers helps keep the resource grounded in empathy, dignity, and real-world needs.
