Caregiver support
I am helping a family member organize appointments and clinic calls. Which public resources or community organizations were easiest to use?
I found it useful to keep a dated list of every clinic or program contacted, including whether the answer was accepting, waitlist or not accepting.
a local settlement agency or community centre may be able to explain the provincial steps without providing medical advice
For urgent symptoms, contact 811 or emergency services rather than waiting for a community reply.
The provincial registration page is a good starting point, and 211 may also know about local navigation supports.
I saved confirmation numbers and copies of forms so I could follow up without starting over
Call before travelling because intake status and hours can change quickly.
Ask whether the clinic accepts online forms, phone intake or both, and when the information was last updated.
The city room may have more recent local experiences, but I would still verify every lead directly
